I PRAY BECAUSE THE NEED FLOWS OUT OF ME ALL THE TIME, WAKING AND SLEEPING. IT DOESN'T CHANGE GOD_IT CHANGES ME!
We've been seeing so many of these beautiful prayer flags all over Pinterest. It is said that they emit positive vibrations and that their prayers, dreams, hopes and wishes are carried by the wind across the countryside...fading colors are a sign that prayers have been sent with the winds. For many, they are a visual way to send prayers up to Heaven.
We decided to make a couple of our own flags. Eventually, we would like to make several of these flags and have them flying outside our homes. The original Tibetan Prayer Flags were very specific in color. But ours are more vintage...filled with lace, doilies, pompoms, buttons, etc.
Remember, thrift stores are your friend when it comes to a project like this. We used a cup towel for the base of our flag.
You can make these any size you want to. Ours are 13"x9" and 21"x16. We added a casing to our flags so they could later be strung onto a rope or piece of twine. They could just as easily be attached with clothes pins. With the base ready we started adding lots of goodies along with our prayer words RAIN and SHOWERS of BLESSINGS...
It has been extremely dry here in the Texas Panhandle this winter. We've had no moisture this entire winter season. So prayers for rain seem very appropriate.
This is such a sweet and beautiful way to visually represent your prayers. We pray rain is on its way...always remembering God's timing is perfect!
THEN HE PRAYED FOR RAIN AND THE SKY POURED RAIN AND THE EARTH PRODUCED ITS FRUITS.
