ALTERED BOOKS

THE MEANING OF LIFE IS TO FIND YOUR GIFT.

THE PURPOSE OF LIFE IS TO GIVE IT AWAY.

We decided this week to share some of the ways we use old and used books in our homes.  Used books are readily available at Thrift Stores and Estate Sales.  Our local Thrift Store has a plethora of books...Bibles, hymnals, children's books, Reader's Digest, etc..  These are usually quite inexpensive depending on the book.  We rarely pay over one dollar for a book.  If books are quite old, we usually leave them intact and use them in a stack.

Here are some that were covered for a really a great look.

Other books, we have chosen to alter.  Pinterest has tons of really great ideas and sometimes we come across some very clever ideas in magazines.  Some of our book art is seasonal...

and some we use in our décor year round.

These fun books can be used several ways...a place to display precious photos, guest book at a wedding, business card holder, etc...

Some of these ideas were inspired by...

Book of Grace, by Monica Sobolla Gruppo, in Somerset Life

Country Sampler's Rustic Wedding

Books Unfurled, by Kathy Baker-Addy, in Paper Art

Hope you find project you can enjoy working into your HOME DECOR!!!
